Ryan G. Blew, 24, of Sinking Spring, surrendered to county detectives on Wednesday, Nov. 16 after a warrant was issued for his arrest, said Berks District Attorney John T. Adams in a statement.

Blew is listed as a second-grade teacher at Spring Ridge Elementary School in Wyomissing on the Wilson School District website. His employment status as of Wednesday was not immediately clear.

Authorities said they began investigating Blew on August 22, after a minor reported years of ongoing sexual abuse.

The child told detectives he met Blew when he was 9 or 10 years old, and that Blew sent him explicit photos via the social media app Snapchat "on multiple occasions," according to prosecutors.

The 15-year-old also alleged that Blew touched his genitals on one occasion, police said.

Investigators spoke to Blew on Aug. 30, when he admitted he "may have" sent the teen explicit photos but denied ever touching him, authorities wrote. They also looked through his cell phone and discovered a video of "an unknown, underage male engaged in a sexual act," detectives said.

Blew was booked at the Central Processing Center in the Berks County Courthouse in Reading and was awaiting arraignment at midday on Wednesday, officials said.

According to his webpage on the school site, Blew has taught in Wilson School District for three years.
